Developing an EAServer Services Package Profile

Develop an EAServer Services Package Profile that can be used to create a physical EAServer 5.x or EAServer 6.x services package.

Prerequisites 
Complete the following prerequisite:
  1. Have EAServer version 5.x or 6.x running.
  2. Determine your packaging strategy.
  3. Develop one or more services within a project, keeping in mind the service types supported for EAServer WST deployment as described in "Planning for Service Deployment" .
  4. Create an connection n EAServer Connection Profile.
  5. (Optional) Set graphic editor preferences.

  1. Creating an EAServer Services Package Profile
    Only Java services can be used to create an EAServer package profile.
  2. Editing an EAServer Services Package Profile
    Use the EAServer Services Package Profile editor to define and edit the services included in the package, configure handlers, transports, and other package profile properties.
  3. Modifying a Services Package Profile Endpoint
    Modify endpoint bindings for both the Sybase Services Package Profiles and EAServer Services Package Profiles from the Endpoint Configuration page.
  4. Binding a Services Package Profile Endpoint
    Every service in a services package profile must be bound to an endpoint.
  5. Configuring Properties for a Services Package Profile Endpoint Binding
    Every service in a services package profile must be bound to an endpoint.
  6. Adding a Handler to an EAServer Services Package Profile
    You can add a handler to an EAServer services package profile.

    A handler chain is a series of handlers that are called as a single unit. You can add a handler chain to an EAServer Services Package Profile from the Handler Chains page.

    Specify global configuration to control engine-wide configuration in an EAServer services package profile.
  9. Specifying Transport Functionality for an EAServer Services Package Profile
    For an EAServer services package profile, use the transport on the server side to implement services. Make any changes from the Transports page of the EAServer Services Package Profile editor.
  10. Specifying Type Mapping for an EAServer Services Package Profile
    Type mapping is a way to map between a Java class and SOAP data in an EAServer services package profile. Specify type mappings from the Type Mappings page of the EAServer Services Package Profile editor.
  11. Configuring the Runtime Container for an EAServer Services Package Profile
    Define the runtime configuration settings for an EAServer 5.x or EAServer 6.x Web Service Container.
