You can deploy a Java Service to two runtime container types.
When planning Java service development, consider the runtime container to which you will deploy the service.
Service Container runtime can host Java services as well as all the other service types supported by Service Container design-time tooling.
The EAServer Web Services Toolkit (WST) runtime can host only Java services, but provides additional datatype support.
The package type that you create for deployment determines what runtime container you can deploy to. A Service Container Services Package Profile allows you to deploy to Service Container runtime. An EAServer 5.x Services Package Profile allows you to deploy to the EAServer WST runtime.
