Deployment Overview

Deliver a new or updated package to a runtime instance and then deploy the configured package to a runtime instance, which generates the metadata and stores the configuration information required during runtime.

You can execute a deployment one of two ways:

• Deploy from a Deployment Profile.

  This is the preferred method. It allows you to re-execute the package or to execute the package with modifications.

• Deploy by right-clicking on a package.

  This method is quicker, but has limitations, including no persistence.
