Provisioning a Data Source

View models can receive data from database operations, virtual database operations, data services, web services, HTTP sources such as web pages, and files.

1. Set up a database connector for a database you want to extract data from.
2. Set up the database operations, virtual database operations, and SQL views you need to provide input to your view models.

• Creating a Database Connector
  Set up a database connector to enable Sybase Data Federation to access a relational database.
• Creating a Database Operation
  Set up a database operation to extract data from a relational database. A data service—and the view model on which it is based—can use database operations as input sources.
• Creating a SQL View
  You can provision a SQL view from a table in a database or generate a SQL view from a data service, database operation, or virtual database operation.
• Creating a Virtual Database Operation
  Set up a virtual database operation to extract data from Sybase Data Federation’s virtual database.
