Create view models that can be deployed as data services, work with metadata models to enforce and validate schemas and set up aliases, and provision data sources into the data catalog.

• Provisioning a Data Source
  View models can receive data from database operations, virtual database operations, data services, web services, HTTP sources such as web pages, and files.
• Developing a Custom Data Service
  Writing a custom data service plug-in is an alternative to using the view modeling tools. In either case, your goal is to create a data service. If you write your own plug-in in Java, create a custom data service to deploy it.
• Archiving a Grid Object
  Sybase Data Federation lets you create a host of tools and services—grid objects—that provision, integrate, and store data. Using the grid object archiving (GOA) tools, you can package and store many types of grid objects in archive files. Archived objects can serve as back-ups (which can be redeployed in the same grid domain if the need arises), or as copies that can be deployed in a different grid domain.
• Developing a Metadata Model
  Create or import a metadata model that you can use to specify the schema for a new view model, validate the schema of a data service, database operation, or table, or establish an alias you can use to call a data service, database operation, or table.
• Developing a View Model
  To develop a view model, you create it with the view model wizard, then add data input sources, parameter definitions, and operators to manipulate the data.
