Specify Global Parameters

If your view model requires input at runtime, configure global parameters to accept the input. You can add new global parameters or map input source parameters to global parameters.

• Global View Model Parameters
  Global parameters let you provide input to a view model at runtime. They’re available to all the operators in the view model.
• Displaying Global Parameters
  To see and manipulate a view model’s global parameters, use the Global Parameters tab of the Properties view, which appears in the bottom pane in WorkSpace Data Federation.
• Adding a Global Parameter
  Add a global parameter to a view model that requires input at runtime.
• Modifying a Global Parameter
  Edit global parameters in your view model.
• Reordering Global Parameters
  Change the order of parameters listed on the Global Parameters tab of the Properties view. The order in which parameters appear on the Global Parameters tab is the same order in which they will appear to calling applications.
• Deleting a Global Parameter
  Delete one or more global parameters from a view model.
• Mapping Input Source Parameters to Global Parameters
  If any data source for your view model has parameters, you must map them to global view model parameters. Perform the steps in this topic for any type of parameter that you need to map.
