MAF Simple Controls

The Apple iOS SDK provides many simple controls, which you can skin at runtime using the Mobile Application Framework. MAF ships a wrapper class for most native UI controls, which you can use to create easily adaptable UI controls. MAF controls support automatic styling at initialization, and use the iOS Appearance API to perform most skinning.

• MAFUIView
  MAFUIView uses the MAFStyling protocol to extend the native UIView class with MAF styling capability.You can use this wrapper object to style the border and background of any UIView subclass. To inherit basic MAF skinning capability, inherit your own control views from this class.
• MAFUIButton
  MAFUIButton uses the MAFStyling protocol to extend the native UIButton class with MAF styling capability.
• MAFUILabel
  MAFUILabel uses the MAFStyling protocol to extend the native UILabel class with MAF styling capability.
• MAFUITextField
  MAFUITextField uses the MAFStyling protocol to extend the native UITextField class with MAF styling capability. MAFUITextField can also use different indicators to mark mandatory fields and fields with invalid values.
• MAFUISlider
  MAFUISlider extends the native UISlider class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUIProgressView
  MAFUIProgressView extends the native UIProgressView class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUIStepper
  MAFUIStepper extends the native UIStepper class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUITabBar
  MAFUITabBar extends the native MAFUITabBar class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.You can style both the tab bar items and the tab bar itself.
• MAFUISearchBar
  MAFUISearchBar extends the native UISearchBar class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• Bars and Items
  MAF provides skinnable subclasses of native bar types: the MAFUIToolbar and the MAFUINavigationBar. You can populate the native bar controls with MAFUIBarButtonItem instances. All of these components extend their superclass with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUISwitch
  MAFUISwitch extends the native UISwitch class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUITextView
  MAFUITextView extends the native UITextView class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol. This wrapper class enables you to change border, background, and text font styles, and adjust content alignment.
• MAFUIImageView
  MAFUIImageView extends the native UIImageView class with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.This control can present images that are encoded in the XML style description, and images that are available from a remote location or as a file from a resource bundle.

  MAFUITableView and MAFUITableViewCell extend the native UITableView and UITableViewCell classes with MAF styling capability using the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUIActivityIndicator
  MAFUIActivityIndicator is a subclass of the native UIActivityIndicator class, which it extends with MAF styling capability through the MAFStyling protocol.
• MAFUISegmentedControl
  MAFUISegmentedControl is a subclass of the native UISegmentedControl class, which it extends with MAF styling capability through the MAFStyling protocol.
