Adding an Error Page to a Web Application

Add an error page to your Web application using the web.xml editor.

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator of the Web Application Development perspective, select web.xml.
  2. Select the Pages tab.
  3. Expand the Error Pages section.
  4. Click Add. A new error page is added with the default name "NewErrorPage x.jsp" and a General Information section appears.
  5. Do one of the following:
    Option Action
    Select an exception type
    1. Click the Browse button adjacent to the Exception type field.
    2. Enter the first letter of the type you want to use in the Select entries field.

      A list of available types beginning with the letter you entered appears in the Matching types list.

    3. Select the type that you want to use and click OK.
    Select an error code
    1. Click the Browse button adjacent to the Error Code field.
    2. Select the error code that you want to use and click OK.
  6. To select a location, click the Browse button adjacent to the Location field.
  7. Select a page and click OK.
