Adding a Context Parameter to a Web Application

Add context parameters to a Web application using the web.xml editor.

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator of the Web Application Development perspective, select web.xml.
  2. Select the Other tab.
  3. Expand Context Parameters.
  4. Click Add. A new context parameter is added with the default name "NewContextParam x."
  5. Click the arrow in the Name field of the General section to select the context parameter that you want to use. The default NewContextParam x parameter is replaced with the context parameter that you select.
  6. In the Value field:
    • If you selected a context parameter that has predefined values, an arrow appears in the Value field. Click the arrow to select the value that you want to use.
    • Type the value of the context parameter.
  7. (Optional) Enter a description of the context parameter.
