Running a SQL Anywhere or Sybase IQ User-Defined Function

You can run a user-defined function from Enterprise Explorer without invoking a launch configuration. Running a user-defined function allows you to run and obtain SQL results from the database.

Prerequisites

Before you can run a user-defined function, save or deploy it to a database.

  1. Expand the User Defined Functions folder, right-click the user-defined function, and choose Run.
Note: If the user-defined function includes parameters, the Configure Parameters dialog appears. You can alter parameter values from here.
  2. Click OK to run the function.

The SQL Results view displays the status of the run instance, the execution details, and returns result sets and server messages, if any.
