Running a Procedural Object

You can run a procedural object from Enterprise Explorer without invoking a launch configuration. Running a procedural object allows you to run and obtain SQL results from the database.

Prerequisites

Before you can run a procedural object, save or deploy it to a database. If procedural objects are modified in an editor, a dialog displays to prompt you to save to the database server before running.

  1. Find the procedural object under the schema owner and database, right-click it, and choose Run.
Note: If the procedural object includes parameters, the Configure Parameters dialog appears. You can alter parameter values from here.
  2. Click OK to run the procedure.

The SQL Results view displays the status of the run instance, the execution details, and returns result sets and server messages, if any.
