Running a Trigger

You can run an Adaptive Server Enterprise or a SQL Anywhere trigger in Enterprise Explorer.

  1. From the Tables folder in Enterprise Explorer, select the table where the trigger is located and expand it.
  2. Right-click the trigger and select Run. The Edit configuration and launch page appears with default values for the Profile and Database fields.
  3. Make sure the Trigger field in the Type frame is selected.
  4. To modify the trigger SQL, click the SQL... button, and choose Insert, Update, or Delete. The Visual SQL wizard opens.
  5. Construct a query with Visual SQL, and choose OK when you are done.
  6. Click Apply to apply the value changes to the launch configuration.
  7. Click Run to run the trigger. The code appears in editor, and you can view results in SQL Results view.
