A Web-based business—with 20 locations where product orders can be accessed and updated—needs to access orders and customer information stored in DB2 UDB on AIX. The business relies heavily on stored procedures and cannot use dynamic SQL to access AIX data.

To access and change data through the Web, the business uses the following components of ECDA: DirectConnect for DB2 UDB. The company also uses a separately purchased EAServer.
