Starting Sybase Central (Windows)

Sybase Central is a graphical tool that can be used as an alternative to SQL statements and command line utilities for managing your database servers, databases, and the objects they contain.

There are no prerequisites for performing this task.

Context and remarks

Windows, except Windows Mobile.

 Start Sybase Central and connect to the sample database (Windows)

  1. Click Start » Programs » SQL Anywhere 12 » Administration Tools » Sybase Central.

  2. Click Connections » Connect With SQL Anywhere 12.

  3. In the Action dropdown list, click Connect With An ODBC Data Source.

  4. Click ODBC Data Source Name and then in the box below, type SQL Anywhere 12 Demo.

  5. Click Connect.

Results

Sybase Central is now connected to the sample database.

Next

Now that the sample database is started you can search the database for specific object.
