Starting Sybase Central and connecting to the sample database (Mac OS X)

Sybase Central is a graphical tool that can be used as an alternative to SQL statements and command line utilities for managing your database servers, databases, and the objects they contain.

Prerequisites

An Intel-based Macintosh computer with 64-bit processors supported by the Apple JDK 1.6 (Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later) must be used to run the administration tools. See [external link] http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1061806.

 Start Sybase Central and connect to the sample database (Mac OS X)
  1. In the Finder, double-click Sybase Central in /Applications/SQLAnywhere12.

  2. Click Connections » Connect With SQL Anywhere 12.

  3. In the Action dropdown list, click Connect With An ODBC Data Source.

  4. Click ODBC Data Source Name, and then in the box below, type SQL Anywhere 12 Demo.

  5. Click Connect.

Results

Sybase Central is connected to the sample database.
