Starting and Stopping a GDC

A Data Federation domain must have at least one grid domain controller (GDC). Start and stop a GDC from the Start menu, with a command line script, or even from external tools (that is, run as a Windows service).

Prerequisites

Starting and stopping a GDC as a Windows service requires that you register the server.

For complete information on how to start and stop the GDC, see the Data Federation Administration Guide, part of the DI Suite documentation set, which is available on the Sybase Product Manuals Web site at http://sybooks.sybase.com.
When you start the GDC as a Windows service, the action both registers and starts the server. Similarly, when you stop the GDC, the action both unregisters and stops the server.
