Service Containers

A Service Container enables the hosting of a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and the deployment, routing, transformation, and administration of services.

• Starting Service Container
  Start Service Container from Sybase WorkSpace or with a command line script. If you start Service Container, you also start the EAServer and SQL Anywhere server.
• Stopping Service Container
  Stop Service Container from Sybase WorkSpace or with a command line script.
• Resolving an EAServer RMI Port Conflict
  The RMI registry listener port is the location where the RMI registry is started. To resolve port conflicts for Service Containers, change any duplicate port numbers for the RMI listener in the EAServer Manager.
• Creating a Service Container (EAServer) Connection Profile
  Create a Service Container connection profile to supply runtime connection information for a Service Container endpoint that uses EAServer.
• Connecting to a Server
  If you did not select the Autoconnect at Start-up option when defining a connection profile, you can manually connect to a server.
• Pinging a Server
  Use the Enterprise Explorer to check if the server is up and running.
• Refreshing a Server Connection
  After you modify the properties of a connection profile, refresh the server connection and update its display in the Enterprise Explorer.
• Disconnecting From a Server
  Use Enterprise Explorer to disconnect from a server.
• Viewing the Service Container Log File with the Log Viewer
  To troubleshoot problems with service invocation, service deployment, business process engine variable assigns, final business process output messages, intermediate steps in the execution of business processes, or to debug, review the service container log files.
• Editing the Security Profile for Service Container
  Launch the Security Profile editor to change the security profile for Service Container packages.
