Creating a Service Container (EAServer) Connection Profile

Create a Service Container connection profile to supply runtime connection information for a Service Container endpoint that uses EAServer.

Alternatively, you can also use the MyServiceContainer default profile, which is installed with the Development Edition servers installer. However, if you have not installed the Development Edition servers, this default profile does not exist.

Note: If you change the connection properties of a connection profile that is already connected, the profile immediately disconnects from the resources and automatically attempts to reconnect using the updated information.

In Enterprise Explorer, right-click the server type or enterprise resource for which you want to create a connection profile and select New.
On the Wizard Selection page, select the appropriate connection profile type and click Next.

Enter a name and description for the connection profile, and click Next.

Field	Description
Name	Enter a unique and descriptive name for the connection profile.
Description	(Optional) Enter a profile description that helps you distinguish it from others.
Auto-Connect at Startup	(Optional) Connect automatically to the server and display its contents in Enterprise Explorer when Sybase WorkSpace starts.

Complete the following information, supplied by the server administrator, on the wizard page:

Host	Enter the name of the machine on which Service Container resides. For example, `SCdev01.mycorp.com`
Port	For example, `1999`
User Name	Enter the name for the Service Container login. For example, `admin@system`
Password	Enter the password for the Service Container login, if it is required. For example, `password1`

Click Test Connection to ping the server and to verify that the connection profile is working.
Click Finish to create the connection profile.
The connection profile displays under the appropriate category in the Enterprise Explorer.
