Viewing the Service Container Log File with the Log Viewer

To troubleshoot problems with service invocation, service deployment, business process engine variable assigns, final business process output messages, intermediate steps in the execution of business processes, or to debug, review the service container log files.

Prerequisites

Deployed services require that you choose both the Service Container log and the EAServer log.

  1. In the Enterprise Explorer, right-click the container and select View Log.
  2. In the Log File Location for Sybase EAServer dialog, choose the file. EAServer outputs different logs. The default file name and location is installation directory\DevRuntimes\EAServer\logs\hostname.log.
  3. You are prompted to confirm the change to the Profiling and Logging perspective. Click Yes.
  4. Check the properties and details of the properties you require. The EAServer Log Viewer opens with one tabbed page for each active EAServer connection profile. You can change views by clicking on the appropriate tab.
  5. Enable log filters to view selected portions of the log only.
Next

Repeat this process to open the Service Container log. Use a text editor to open the appropriate <installation directory>\DevRuntimes\SC\log\SC55.X.log file.

At runtime, the service container generates a series of SC55.x.log files. Ensure you open the correct file according to the limits you set in the <installation directory>\DevRuntimes\EAServer\bin\logging.properties file.
