Installing Optional PowerDesigner Components

If you installed the Enterprise Modeling component with Sybase WorkSpace, you can optionally install and set up the PowerDesigner repository, install the repository proxy server, or install the Repository Web Broswer.

Installers for these components are provided on the Sybase WorkSpace installation media.

Note: Because the installers are provided on the Sybase WorkSpace installation media, ignore references in this section to the PowerDesigner installation media.

Optional Component	Installer
Install the Repository	Install the Sybase Developer Edition Server appropriate for your implemtation. You can install and use the Developer Editions of SQL Anywhere or the Adaptive Server Enterprise provided with Sybase WorkSpace to set up and run the PowerDesigner repository. See the Sybase Developer Edition Servers Installation Guide for additional information. See Installing the Repository.
Install the Repository Proxy	PowerDesigner15_Proxy.exe on Sybase WorkSpace Installation CD or DVD. See Installing the Repository Proxy.
Install the Repository Web Browser	PowerDesigner15_CMR.exe on Sybase WorkSpace Installation CD or DVD. See Installing the Repository Web Browser.

Installing the Repository
The PowerDesigner repository can be used to store your PowerDesigner models and other files relating to your design projects.
Installing the Repository Proxy
The Repository is a client-server application, in which the Client issues SQL statements via an ODBC connection to be executed on the database server. While such a system provides acceptable performance on a Local Area Network (LAN), it may be less effective on a Wide Area Network (WAN).
Installing the Repository Web Browser
The Repository Web Browser allows you to view the contents of your repository in your standard web browser.
