Developing a Database Service

Develop a service with a database endpoint binding to perform database operations as a standalone service or within a business process or other composite service.

You can expose actions that you can perform on a particular database using existing stored procedures, SQL statements created during development of the database service, and query files. The result of this process is a service file you can deploy to provide access to your operations at runtime.

  1. Creating a Sybase Project
    You can create a Sybase project that contains folders and files to assist you in organizing and developing resources for your project.
  2. Creating a Service
    Create a service and optionally bind it to an endpoint type, such as business process, database, EJB, Java, messaging, monitor, SOAP or transformation.
  3. Editing a Database Service Interface
    The database service interface comprises the service operations that are performed during runtime and the service endpoint that enables the connection of the service to a database.
  4. Defining a Database Service Endpoint Binding
    Define database endpoint binding operation parameters and properties.
  5. Adding a Stored Procedure Operation
    You can add stored procedures operations to a database service interface.
  6. Creating a Query File
    Create a query (.qry) file to add a SQL statement operation to a database service.
  7. Adding an Endpoint to a Database Service From a Connection Profile
    A database endpoint provides a connection, or binding, between a service and the target database.
  8. Adding an Endpoint to a Database Service Using the JDBC Endpoint Wizard
    A database endpoint provides a connection, or binding, between a service and the target database.
  9. Setting Up a Transactional ASE Database Service
    You can set up a transactional ASE database service.
