Creating a Sybase Services Package Profile

Create a Sybase services package profile as part of developing a services package profile.

  1. In the Service Development perspective, select File > New > Sybase Services Package Profile.
Note: To bypass the wizard and start working in the Sybase Services Package Profile editor, right-click a service in the WorkSpace Navigator and select Create Sybase Services Package Profile.

The New Services Package Profile wizard opens.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the project where the package profile is to be created.
    • To create a new services package profile, name the package profile with a unique and descriptive name, and click Next.
  3. (Optional) Enter a description for the package profile and click Next.
  4. From the Contents section, select the services to be included in the package and click Next.
    • Select the checkbox at the project level to select all of the services from the project.
    • Select check boxes for one or more individual services to include only a subset of services from the project.
  5. From the Access Configuration section, specify the services to be publicly exposed and one or more transports over which each is exposed.
    • By default, all services in the package are selected to be publicly exposed on the default HTTPTransport.

    • Deselect any services you do not want to be publicly exposed when the package is deployed.

    • To remove the default HTTPTransport, click to select the node under the services and click Remove.
    • To add another transport over which a service is to be exposed, select the service node and click Expose Service. Then select from the Select Transport list or click New to add a new transport.
  6. Review the summary of information to be included in the package and do one of the following:
    • Click Back to return to a wizard pages to make changes to the package profile.
    • Click Finish to complete the services package profile.

The services package profile file (<file name>.svcpkgdef) appears in the WorkSpace Navigator and the Services Package Profile editor opens.

You are now ready to work with the Sybase Services Package Profile editor to update the services packaging profile contents and complete the steps for developing a Sybase services package profile.
