Analyzing EAServer and Service Container Log Files

Enterprise application and distributed service resources frequently span multiple servers. Correlating and analyzing log file information from multiple sources provides a useful tool for debugging and isolating problems.

Import EAServer and Service Container log files and create log correlations from Enterprise Explorer (or the Eclipse Profile and Logging perspective).

  1. Open the Enterprise Explorer.
  2. Right-click any EAServer or Service Container connection profile and select View Log.
  3. If not already imported, you are prompted to import the server log file.
Note: EAServer renames its log file each time the server is restarted and moves the log file into the logs\old subdirectory. To view all of the old log files as one continuous log file, use a regular expression in the Access log file path field, for example: C:\Sybase\SCS\EAServer\logs\old\EAServer6host1.log.00. to match all of the log files in the logs\old subdirectory.
  4. Create a correlation between two or more log files including EAServer and Service Container log files using the Logging perspective.
