Generating Objects From a Message Definition

Before you deploy a message definition, you must generate the runtime objects, including the XML Schema Definition (XSD), parser, serializer, and Java schema objects (JSOs).

  1. (Optional) To check for errors that must be fixed before generating the message definition, right-click a message definition in the WorkSpace Navigator, for example, YourMsg.wfim, and select Validate.
  2. Do one of the following to generate objects for a message definition:
    Option Action
In the WorkSpace Navigator Right-click a message definition, for example, YourMsg.wfim and select Generate.
In the Message Details tab of the Message Definition editor Right-click in the editor and select Generate message definition.
In the Message Details tab of the Message Definition editor Select Message Editor > Generate message definition from the main menu bar.
Object generation errors are displayed in the Error Log view and also in a dialog box.
Note: To edit an XSD without leaving Sybase WorkSpace, right-click the file in the Generated Schemas folder and select Open With > Sample XML Schema Editor.
