Renaming a User-Defined Datatype

Rename a user-defined datatype from Enterprise Explorer to refer to the datatype by a new name.

Prerequisites

Before you can rename a user-defined datatype, be sure the data server that defines the user-defined datatype is running and that you have created and established a connection to the data server.

Note: For SQL Anywhere and Sybase IQ, you cannot directly rename a user-defined datatype. Instead, you must drop it and recreate it with a different name.
  1. Expand the User Defined Datatypes folder, right-click the user-defined datatype, and choose Rename.
  2. Enter a new name for the user-defined datatype, and click OK.
Note: Do not use spaces in object names. Spaces could cause the renaming to fail.
