Editing a SQL Anywhere or Sybase IQ User-Defined Datatype

View a user-defined datatype in the User-Defined Type Editor.

Prerequisites 

Before you view a user-defined datatype, be sure the data server that contains the user-defined datatype is running and that you created and established a connection to the data server.

  1. Expand the User Defined Types folder, right-click the user-defined datatype you want to edit, and choose Edit.

    The User Defined Type Editor opens.

  2. View the user-defined datatype properties.
    Note: These properties are not editable for SQL Anywhere and Sybase IQ user-defined datatypes.
    Editor Tab Description
    General
    • The user-defined datatype name appears in the Name field.
    • The system datatype setting appears in the System datatype field.
    • The a null setting appears in the Null value setting field.
    • The default appears in the Default value field.
    • Any check constraint for data of this datatype is shown in the Check Constraint field.
    DDL Select this tab to view the DDL for the user-defined datatype. Content in this tab is not modifiable.
  3. When you are finished viewing the user-defined datatype, choose File > Save from the main WorkSpace menu to save your changes.
