A Replication Server article is an extension to a replication definition allowing table replication definitions or function replication definitions to be part of a publication. Because an article is associated with a publication, you should make sure you have created a publication before creating an article.

Open Enterprise Explorer, and connect to your Replication Server.

Expand the view for your Replication Server connection profile, right-click a primary database for which to create articles, and choose
New Artifact.
The New Replication Server Artifacts wizard displays.

In the wizard selection list, highlight
Article, and click
Next.

Specify properties for the article.

From the menu dropdown, select a publication to contain the article.

Provide either a table replication definition or a function replication definition for which this article is to be created:

The changes made in this wizard page appear in the Preview field.
- Click Next, and specify an optional where clause. Click Add to open the Where clause setting wizard.

Enter a value for the where-clause condition. |
Remove, Remove All |
Remove a highlighted criterion or all criteria, as necessary. |
Click OK when you are done specifying a where clause. Use Edit to edit the clause. Use Remove or Remove All to respectively remove one or all clauses.

Click Finish to create the article.
