Deploying a Device Application

Deploy a device application so you can run it on an emulator or a mobile device.

Prerequisites
Before you deploy a device application:
  1. Develop mobile business objects that implement the business logic, and deploy them to Unwired Server.
  2. Generate client code for the device.
  3. Create a user interface for the application.
You can deploy device applications to:
  • Device emulators – to test within Visual Studio.
  • Mobile devices – requires a physical connection to the machine on which the application resides.
  • Unwired Server – from which an administrator deploys the application to the Afaria server, so it can be downloaded to multiple mobile devices.
  1. Establish a connection to the deployment target.
  2. Open the project.
  3. In the Solution Explorer, right-click the application, and select Deploy.
