Viewing a Sample Windows Mobile Application

Step through the functionality of a sample mobile application that was built using mobile business objects and the Windows Forms API. Sample screens illustrate basic features and navigation, and may be useful for developing mobile applications and troubleshooting problems.

Running a mobile application, and keeping data on the device synchronized with the data source requires:

  1. Starting a Device Application
    Start an application that is installed on a mobile device.
  2. Creating a Server Connection
    Establish a connection to Unwired Server, so you can download current application data, and upload data changes.
  3. Configuring Push Settings
    Configure push settings to define when Unwired Server can download (push) new data to a device. Downloading can occur only when the device has a connection to Unwired Server.
  4. Synchronizing Data
    Sybase recommends that you synchronize data on a mobile device before running any mobile-application operation, and after inserting, updating, or deleting data.
  5. Running Business Operations
    Run the operations that the mobile business objects implement.
