Creating a Server Connection

Establish a connection to Unwired Server, so you can download current application data, and upload data changes.

The screen shots in this example are for demonstration purposes only; Sybase Unwired Platform does not include this application.

  1. To enter the connection information in this example, start the device application, then select Menu > Settings .
  2. Specify the connection details:
    Field Description
    Engineer ID Device user ID
MobiLink Server Domain name of the machine on which Unwired Server is running
MobiLink Port Port number on which Unwired Server is listening for connection requests
MobiLink Stream Type Communication protocol to use for transferring data
Unwired Platform User Name User ID for logging in to Unwired Server
Unwired Platform Password User password for logging in to Unwired Server
    Settings Server connection
  3. Click the Save (disk) icon. In this example, when you save the connection details, a connection request is sent to Unwired Server. In your own application, you may want to add a separate control to send the connection request.
