Configuring Push Settings

Configure push settings to define when Unwired Server can download (push) new data to a device. Downloading can occur only when the device has a connection to Unwired Server.

The way you access the screen to enter push settings depends on the user interface design. This topic describes a sample scenario.

  1. Start the device application, then select Menu > Settings > Push Settings .
  2. Specify the options to configure push synchronization for your device application; for example:
    Option Description
Push address Typically, the e-mail address for your device; may also be an SMS telephone number.
Synchronize immediately Download new data as soon as it is available.
Notify, then wait for response Use the push address to notify the device client that new data is available, then wait for a response.
Notify, then download; do not wait for response Use the push address to notify the device client that new data is available, then download data without waiting for a response.
Notify, wait specified time for response; if user does not cancel, download data Use the push address to notify the device client that new data is available. If the user does not explicitly cancel, download the data.
Do not notify, do not download data Do not notify the device client when new data is available, and do not download.
  3. Save the settings.
  4. Synchronize to upload the push settings to Unwired Server.
