Adding an SAP Connection

Create a connection to an SAP server to provide a data source for one or more mobile business objects.

Note: If you browse to a property file to create an SAP connection rather than entering the properties yourself, each time you open the Mobile Business Object Creation Wizard to create an SAP mobile business object, the BAPI metadata is reloaded from the SAP system, which can take awhile. If you use a named connection, data loads faster, but you must manually delete the serialization files if the metadata changes. Serialization files are located in C:\Sybase\UnwiredPlatform-1_2\Unwired_WorkSpace\VisualStudio\toolingapi\sapCache.
  1. Right-click SAP Connections in the Server Explorer and select Add Connection.
  2. (Optional) To define the connection using existing properties, select the Create from Properties File checkbox.
  3. Enter connection details.
  4. Click Test Connection.

A dialog appears stating if the test connection succeeded.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK to add the connection.
