Running a User-Defined Function

Run a user-defined function without invoking a launch configuration. Running a user-defined function allows you to run and obtain SQL results from the database.

Prerequisites

Before you can run a user-defined function, save or deploy it to a database.

  1. In Enterprise Explorer, expand the User Defined Functions folder, right-click the user-defined function, and choose Run.
  2. (Optional) If the user-defined function includes parameters, modify the parameter values, and click OK.

SQL Results view displays the status of the run instance, the execution details, and returns result sets and server messages, if any.
