Upgrading to 16.0 SP03

SAP® Sybase® IQ 16.0 SP03 includes updates to features that are currently installed on your system. See the SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 cover letter, included as part of this release, for a list of updates.

SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 includes SAP Control Center 3.3.

You cannot manage a 16.0 SP03 resource with previous versions of SAP Control Center. However, you can use SCC 3.3 to manage all previous versions of SAP Sybase IQ from 15.3.

To administer an SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 database with SCC, you must install an SCC 3.3 server and an SCC 3.3 Agent for SAP Sybase IQ.

SCC installation options depend on whether SCC 3.2 is currently installed or you whether you are installing SCC for the first time. 1. Preparing for Database 15.x Upgrades
   SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 includes changes to the system tables and database schema. If you are migrating a SAP Sybase IQ 15.x database, objects no longer supported by SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 must be removed or modified.
2. Preparing an SAP Sybase IQ Server
   SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 is a complete installation package. The initial release of SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 is not a prerequisite for this support package.
3. Installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03
   Some steps may differ for simplex and multiplex servers when installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03. See the cover letter for release-specific instructions.
4. Upgrading SAP Sybase IQ Databases to 16.0 SP03
   Upgrade your database to SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 before you perform database read-write operations.
5. Regrant EXECUTE Privilege After Upgrading a Database
   When you upgrade a database, there is a set of privileged system procedures for which you must regrant the EXECUTE privilege if the upgraded database continues to use the SYSTEM PROCEDURE DEFINER security model.
6. Logical Servers
   An SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 multiplex database upgrade changes the way users access multiplex servers. Starting with SAP Sybase IQ 15.4, logical servers provide the only means to access the multiplex server nodes.
