Installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03

Some steps may differ for simplex and multiplex servers when installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03. See the cover letter for release-specific instructions.

The SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 installer includes SAP Control Center 3.3. SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 is not compatible with previous versions of SCC. To administer an SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 database with SCC, you must install an SCC 3.3 server and an SCC 3.3 Agent.

Use the appropriate utility to extract the SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 archive to a directory on the file system.

For:

Server	Action
Simplex	Shut down the server.
Multiplex	Shut down all multiplex nodes.

For server shutdown instructions, see Administration: Database > Run SAP Sybase IQ Database Servers > Database Server Shutdown > Stopping Servers.

Install SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03.
On multiplex servers, update the software on each node separately.
From the command line, change to %IQDIR16%\bin64.
Check the server version string:
```
start_iq -v2
```
Verify that the results match the version string in the cover letter.
Restart the server or multiplex.
