Upgrading to 16.0 SP03 and SCC 3.3

If you currently use SAP Control Center to manage SAP Sybase IQ resources, and are installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03, you must upgrade the SCC server before you upgrade the managed resources. See the SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 cover letter, included as par of this release, for a list of updates.

SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 includes SAP Control Center 3.3. SAP Control Center 3.3 is required to administer an SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 database. SCC 3.3 is also compatible with all previous versions of SAP Sybase IQ from 15.3.

1. Preparing to Install SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 with SAP Control Center
   There are several tasks that you must perform before installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03 in an SAP Sybase IQ environment managed by SAP Control Center.

   Some steps may differ for simplex and multiplex servers when installing SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03. See the cover letter for release-specific instructions.

   Migrate a standalone SAP Control Center server to 3.3.
4. Upgrading an SAP Sybase IQ Database Using Interactive SQL
   Before you perform database read-write operations, upgrade your 15.x or 16.x database to SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03.
5. Upgrading a 15.x Database Using the SCC Upgrade Database Wizard
   The SAP Control Center Upgrade Database wizard lets you upgrade an SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 or 15.4 simplex or multiplex database to SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP03.
6. Regrant EXECUTE Privilege After Upgrading a Database
   When you upgrade a database, there is a set of privileged system procedures for which you must regrant the EXECUTE privilege if the upgraded database continues to use the SYSTEM PROCEDURE DEFINER security model.
