Creating Variable References

Use the Variable References dialog to create a new variable to which to assign a control.

1. Right-click in any Device Application Designer page (except the Introduction Page) and select Variable References.
   The Variable References dialog is launched.
2. Click New.
   The Variables dialog launches.
3. Enter:

   Option	Description
   Name	Name of the variable reference.
   Data Type	Select the data type for the variable reference.
   Default Value	Default value for the variable reference.
   Description	Description for the variable reference.

4. Click OK.

  Use the Device Application Designer editor to assign controls to get their initial values from variables.
• Filtering Variable References
  Use the Variable References dialog to filter your search for a specific variable reference.
• Editing Variable References
  Use the Variable References dialog to edit variables.
