Resolving JOIN Index Errors During a Multiplex Upgrade

You must drop JOIN indexes before you can upgrade a multiplex.

  1. Note the JOIN indexes to be dropped.
  2. Exit SAP Control Center and stop the SCC server.
Warning!  Failure to stop the SCC server removes node-level resources of the multiplex from the Perspective Resources and Resource Explorer windows. As a result, you can no longer use SCC to manage the multiplex.
  3. Stop the coordinator node. You do not need to be shut down the SCC agent on the SAP Sybase IQ server.
  4. Restart the coordinator using SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 or 15.4. Specify an explicit path to the coordinator's database file. To start the coordinator in single-node mode, use the -iqmpx_sn 1 startup flag.
  5. Start Interactive SQL, connect to the coordinator, and drop the JOIN indexes.
  6. Stop the coordinator and restart it in normal mode, using SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 or 15.4. Specify an explicit path to the coordinator's database file.
  7. Start the SCC server.
  8. Open a browser and log in to SAP Control Center.
Note: If the status of the multiplex remains stopped and the node-level resources of the multiplex are missing from the Resource Explorer, unregister and register the multiplex resource in the Resource Explorer.
  9. Restart the Database Upgrade wizard.
