Starting an Adaptive Server

Start an Adaptive Server using a RUN server script.

Note: While executing this command, you may experience performance degradation if there is a firewall between the Sybase Control server and the monitoring Adaptive Server host machines. Communication with the Unified Agent uses the Java RMI network protocol which requires a network connection to be established between the Sybase Control Center server and Unified Agent. If the firewall prevents these connections from being established, then performance may degrade.

Use the Start Adaptive Server option in the Adaptive Server Administration Dashboard to start the Adaptive Server.

In the Perspective Resources view, right-click the server you want to monitor and select Administer. The Adaptive Server Administration Dashboard displays the administrative options.
Click Start Adaptive Server.
Note: If the associated agent is not running on the host , or the agent is not registered or authenticated, the Start Adaptive Server option is disabled.
Select the existing RUN server script to start Adaptive Server, or specify the location of a new RUN server file. You must have permissions to execute the RUN server script.
(Optional) Click to show the server error log. If you do not have permissions to read the error log, or the error log does not exist, you see an error message. If you have clicked on the Show server log option, you see the server start-up status.
Click Finish.
