Administer Adaptive Server

Sybase Control Center allows you to register and authenticate a running Unified Agent, start and stop your server, and view the server error log.

To start or stop the server, and to view the error log, you must be granted the uafagent users role on the host machine. Use the options in the Adaptive Server Administration Dashboard to manage the Unified Agent and Adaptive Server.

  1. In the Perspective Resources view, right-click the server you want to monitor and select Administer. The Adaptive Server Administration Dashboard opens and displays the administrative options.
  2. To register the Unified Agent, click Register Agent. You must specify connection information that the Unified Agent needs to manage your resources remotely.
  3. To authenticate the user with the Unified Agent, click Authenticate Agent.
  4. To start the Adaptive Server using a server RUN script, click Start ASE Server.
  5. To stop a running Adaptive Server, click Shutdown ASE.
  6. To view the error log of an Adaptive Server, click View ASE Errorlog. You can further choose to filter the error log.
