Configuring an LDAP Provider for Unwired Server

Unwired Server can use providers of many types, however LDAP is the most widely adopted login mechanism used on corporate networks.

LDAP providers used to process login requests are configured from Sybase Control Center for Unwired Platform.

  1. Open Sybase Control Center for Unwired Platform.
  2. Click the Security node.
  3. For either authentication, authoriziation, attribution, services, you can select LDAP as the module type for each and configure properties and values as required for you environment. The LDAP attribution provider can share a common configuration with LDAPLoginModule (authentication provider), if configured to do so. This is accomplished by setting the configuration for the authentication provider and not specifying any options for the attribution provider. However, the LDAPAuthorization provider configuration must always be explicitly specified and cannot share configuration information from the authentication provider. Depending on which type of LDAP provider you use in your environment, the properties and values may vary. Review the reference topic for each LDAP module in LDAP Configuration Properties to see what properties are available.
Upon completion, Sybase Control Center creates a configuration file for Unwired Server in the proper XML format.
Note: Sybase Unwired Platform documentation does not directly expose these configuration file options or file syntax required, in order to discourage direct modification of these files.
