Projects

A project is a collection of resources that together accomplish a task.

A project is the first resource that is created because it is the container for all other resources.

In Database Development, a project typically stores related SQL files that can be used later for queries or in creating procedural objects.

In Service Development, a project stores all service-related files.

  A project template provides some of the resources you need in a project.

  If a project contains resources that you want to use in another project, you can set the appropriate references in the project properties of an existing project.

  The Project Explorer provides an integrated view of navigable models of J2EE deployment descriptors, Java artifacts (source folders, packages, and classes), navigable models of the available Web services, and specialized views of Web modules to simplify the development of dynamic Web applications.
• Copying a Project
  You can import a copy of an existing project into your workspace. When a project is copied, its resources are not actually copied, but are a reference to the original resource.
• Sharing a Project
  You can share a project that resides in a different location Sharing a project differs from copying a project. When you share a project, the project is not exported from its original location.
• Exporting a Project
  You can export a project that can then be imported and shared with other developers.
• Importing a Project
  You can import a copy of project or projects into your workspace as an archive file or directly from a local file system.
• Troubleshooting Projects
  Problem: You may experience problems with a project imported from an earlier version of Sybase WorkSpace.
