Unifying an Index

Periodicaly, unify index stripes into a single stripe to optimize performance. This unification process purges data marked for deletion and consolidates the indexed data structure.

You can run the index unification process for a file system document store or for a passive document store.

  1. In the Enterprise Explorer, expand Sybase Search Servers > (Sybase Search Connection Profile) > Sybase Search Server > Document Stores.
  2. Expand File System Import Manager and select the document store for which you want to unify index.
    Note: Expand Internet Import Manager to unify index for a passive document store.
  3. Right-click the selected document store and click Unify Index.
  4. Click OK to run the unification process.
