Testing a View Model

When your view model is complete, you can test it by executing it.

With the view model open, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click in the view model editor and select Execute Model. The Execute Model dialog appears.

  2. On the Parameters tab, enter any parameter values required for the test execution.
  3. On the Debug Options tab, choose test options.
    • Enable tracing of model execution: Check this box to send trace information about the test execution to the Console tab in the bottom pane.
    • Include each operator’s row output data: Check this box to show each operator’s row output data on the Console tab.
    • Display debug console view: Check this box to display the Console tab. If you checked either of the items above, check this one as well to see the debug output.
  4. Click OK to start the test execution. If you opted to display debug output, it appears on the Console tab. If there are errors, they appear in a separate window.
If the view model runs without errors, WorkSpace Data Federation displays the results.
