Configuring a Database Operation Input Source

In this task you choose a database operation or virtual database operation as the source for your Input Source element.

Follow these steps:

  1. Double-click an Input Source element. The Input Source Properties dialog appears.
  2. (Optional) Edit the Name and Description for this element.
  3. If you didn’t drag a database operation or virtual database operation from Enterprise Explorer to create this Input Source element, you must identify the input source. On the Input Source tab, click Choose. The Input Source Chooser wizard appears.
  4. Select the option A database operation and click Next.
  5. On the Database Operation Input Source page, choose a database operation or a virtual database operation from the browser. Here’s where to find them:
    Database operations Categories/ViewLibrary/DatabaseServices contains folders named for database connectors; within each database connector folder are the database operations that use that database connector.
    Virtual database operations Categories/ViewLibrary/VirtualDatabaseServices/Operations
  6. Click Finish save your changes and close the wizard.
