Headers and footers can help users navigate the client screens and keep track of where they are.
By default, screens do not have headers and footers—you must add them from the Palette if you want to use them. When using headers and footers, keep in mind:
- You cannot have a footer on the screen without having a header on the screen, so if you add a footer to the screen, a header is added automatically.
- Footers show the full text of the current item under focus on the device.
- When you remove a header from the screen, the footer is also removed.
- When you add a table to the screen, the header and footer are added automatically. You can remove them if desired.
- The full text string of the current focus cell displays in the footer. If you have a control with a long string of text, it is useful to add a footer to the screen so the user can view the full text.
- You can customize the header and footer styles by clicking on the header or footer and making your changes using the Properties view.
