Use parameters to synchronize and refresh client data.
Use parameters (and attributes) can be used to refresh and synchronize data from Unwired Server to the mobile device. The table below describes several usage scenarios.

| Data refresh (playback) | If you define a parameter with Filter by unselected, the parameter is used only as a data refresh parameter (refresh the data if it is out of sync with the back-end data source) and does not partition (filter) returned data. |
| Synchronization |
If you select Filter by, the parameter is a sync parameter as well. That is, it synchronizes data with cached Unwired Server data, and filters the data based on the Filter by parameter, for example a personalization key value. |
