About configuration files

Configuration files are created during installation at a default location in the Sybase installation directory structure.

Table B-1 shows the configuration files that Open Client and Open Server products use:

libtcl.cfg

The driver configuration file contains information regarding directory, security, and network drivers and any required initialization information.

sql.ini

This file contains network and security information for each server listed in the file. It is also used as a backup to the libtcl.cfg file.

objectid.dat

This file maps global object identifiers to local names for character set, collating sequence, and security mechanisms.

ocs.cfg

The runtime configuration file allows you to change certain Open Client application values at runtime.
