MAF formatters are non-UI components that convert text values and numbers into phone numbers, dates, times, and currencies according to locale and country code settings. You can also format addresses by querying the order of the address fields based on locale settings and country codes.
Custom formatting options let you select short or long date and time formats, and whether to show date and time fields separately or together.
Use MAF formatters to create applications that present country- and locale-specific information. You can build your own UI components and input fields on MAF formatters, but you can also use prepackaged MAF locale-aware UI controls that use MAF skinning and MAF formatting capabilities.
