New Features

Sybase® Unwired Platform covers the end-to-end aspects of mobilizing an application—providing standards-based access to data sources, offering consistent and reusable object-oriented frameworks across heterogenous device platforms, supporting end-to-end security, and managing deployment, devices, users, and applications. Sybase Unwired Platform includes several important new features described here.

• Installation and Upgrade
  You can upgrade from an existing Sybase® Unwired Platform version 1.5.5 installation to version 2.0.
• Mobile Workflow
  The Mobile Workflow application is now based on a Hybrid Web container architecture. This enables new functionality as described below.
• Single Sign-On for SAP
  Single sign-on (SSO) allows both certificate (X.509) and SSO logon ticket (SSO2) authentication for mobile applications that contain mobile business objects (MBOs) bound to an SAP® system.
• Simplified Relay Server Integration
  Instead of having to set up a Relay Server-enabled environment by manually editing multiple configuration files and running batch scripts to update the configuration, you can now use Sybase Control Center to configure and manage necessary Relay Server Outbound Enablers (RSOEs).
• Changes by Component
  Further changes or enhancements have been made to multiple components of this product.
